Two different kinds of claim
Nothing classical belongs on these pages. The ancient texts do not do sign-against-sign compatibility at all — their synastry compares planets in two real charts, not two birthdays. Every one of the 70 pairings covered here is attested by modern voices only, and that is checked on every build.
Sign against sign reports what those modern voices say, with the count behind each verdict. It is corpus data and carries the same contract as everything else on this site.
The compatibility score is a percentage we compute from our own trait axes. No source anywhere states a compatibility percentage. Every such number you have ever seen was invented by whoever published it — and so is ours. The difference is that ours shows its working, and then tells you where it disagrees with the published verdicts.
The short version
Across 70 pairings, the published verdict is decided entirely by the angle between the two signs. 5 of the six angular separations are unanimous: every pair at that angle gets the same answer, with no exceptions anywhere in the corpus.
Sun-sign compatibility is not a reading of two personalities. It is a lookup table with personalities written over the top.
