The Tibetan year cycle
A Tibetan year name joins one animal, one of five elements and male or female gender. The rabjung cycle number completes the historical identifier. That structure is real; a twelve-card personality horoscope is not what this corpus claims.
The twelve animals
Why the cycle starts with Hare
The animal order is familiar across East Asia, but rabjung year one is Fire Female Hare, conventionally placed in 1027. That rotates the sixty-year presentation away from the Chinese Jia-Zi starting point without changing the underlying twelve-animal order. See all sixty years →
One calculator, one named calendar
Bodhastra converts Gregorian dates with the Phugpa rules. Tsurphu, Bhutanese, Mongolian and regional calendars can disagree, so “Tibetan date” is never presented as if there were one universal boundary. Use the Phugpa calculator →
