Moon sign
The fastest-moving body in the chart. The Moon changes sign every two and a half days, so unlike a sun sign, the date alone genuinely is not enough to answer this.
No birthplace is asked for because none is needed — see below. The time zone is, because it is what turns your local clock time into the instant the Moon was actually somewhere.
Why we do not ask where you were born
Nearly every moon-sign calculator asks for a birthplace. For this particular question it does not need one, and the reason is geometric rather than astrological: a moon sign is the Moon’s geocentric ecliptic longitude — its position as measured from the centre of the Earth — and that number is the same whether you were born in Lima or Lahore.
Standing on the surface rather than at the centre shifts the apparent Moon by up to about one degree. That is a real effect, it is called parallax, and it matters for predicting an eclipse. It does not decide a thirty-degree sign except in the last few arcminutes before a boundary — a case this page flags when it happens.
A birthplace is needed for a rising sign, which depends on the horizon, and sites that ask for one here are usually collecting it for that. That calculator is here, and it asks.
What the corpus says about moon signs
Nothing, and that is worth stating plainly. Every trait, correspondence and verdict on this site is attested for a SUN sign. The classical texts read for this corpus discuss the Moon extensively — as a planet in a chart, with its own dignities — but the modern idea that your moon sign describes your inner life is not something any of them say, and it is not something this site has evidence for either way.
So this page computes the position and stops there. Where the Moon was is checkable. What it means about you is not a claim we can source.
