One year label is not the whole astrology
The public animal-element result is useful precisely when its limits remain visible.
Two inherited calculation streams
Tibetan sources distinguish Indian-derived “white” calculations, including the calendar and astronomy associated with Kalachakra, from Chinese-derived “black” or element calculations, which correlate animals, elements and other variables.
They interact in almanacs and astrological practice, but neither reduces to a year animal. Full calculations may use lunar weekdays, constellations, magic-square numbers, trigrams, natal elements and gender-specific progressions.
Why personality stays out
The source corpus establishes that natal animal-element combinations are interpreted. It does not justify twelve generic English personality cards detached from the additional calculations those interpretations use. Those claims remain quarantined until they have their own Tibetan-source matrix.
