- guess the song — a few seconds of a preview and four titles, all from the same era so you cannot win it by guessing the decade. easy stays on the hits; hard drops to two seconds of a deep cut.
- guess the producer — the song is right there. the question is who made it. four names, one credited, three lives.
- finish the title — one word removed from a title, and three seconds of the record to work out which. nothing is muted and no lyric appears anywhere, which is the entire reason this one is legal to build.
the ones without audio
- which era are you — eight questions, none of them about music, and the answer repaints this whole site in your era on the spot.
- higher or lower — two songs, one question: which charted better. the winner carries forward, so the number you just learned is the number you need next.
- the ranker — this one or that one, sixty-odd times, and you get your actual top twenty. it is a merge sort with you as the comparator, which is why the result is a real ranking rather than a list you assembled in the order things occurred to you.
