2013 — the listening sessions

eleven nights in theatres and clubs, built to put yours truly in front of people who had only heard the singles. by later standards it barely counts as a tour, and that is exactly why it is worth knowing about: one album, a band, no production to hide behind, and a voice that had to carry the room on its own.

2015 — the honeymoon tour

eleven shows to eighty-eight in eighteen months, across four continents, in front of 808,667 people. my everything had turned her from a nickelodeon graduate with an r&b record into a radio fixture, and the routing assumed it. this is the last tour where the staging is bigger than the persona; from the next one onward that ratio inverts and never goes back.

2017 — the dangerous woman tour

seventy-seven shows across five continents, and the tour that was supposed to be the coronation. on 22 may 2017 a bomb was detonated in the foyer of manchester arena as her audience was leaving. twenty-two people were killed, most of them young. the tour was suspended.

thirteen days later she went back. one love manchester was assembled in under two weeks out of everyone who said yes, the 55,000 tickets went in twenty minutes, and it raised millions for the victims' families. she then finished the tour. what that run means now is not the seventy-seven shows or the seventy-one million dollars — it is that the person with every reason never to walk onto a stage again chose to walk back onto that one, in that city, in front of those people.

2019 — the sweetener world tour

a hundred shows carrying two albums, because sweetener and thank u, next arrived six months apart. $146.4 million, 1.3 million people, north america and europe — her highest-grossing run by a distance.

the context is what makes it remarkable rather than the receipts. this is the tour that followed manchester and followed mac miller's death. going out at all was a decision; going out for a hundred nights was something else. the set does not pretend those two years did not happen, and the concert film — excuse me, i love you — is the document of it.

2026 — the eternal sunshine tour

then it stopped for seven years, most of them spent on film sets. the current run is 41 dates built as residencies rather than as a trek, and it is covered date by date in the 2026 tour guide.
