How do I install or open EzPIX Insta?

Use the EzPIX Insta button. If the extension is not detected, it opens the existing Chrome Web Store listing in a new tab. Install it and pin its icon. A compatible installed version opens in the normal Chrome toolbar popup. Older versions need updating before the website can open them. Return to this page after installation so detection refreshes.

Why does opening from the website not capture the page?

Chrome grants page-capture access when you click the pinned extension icon on that page. A website button can open the popup, but cannot grant that access. Without a prior grant, open an image or short video, Camera or Live screen instead. Page-capture buttons stay disabled until you open through the toolbar icon.

Does Capture entire visible page include content below the screen?

It captures the current visible viewport, not a scrolling full-page screenshot. Scroll to your subject first, then click the extension icon. Select page area and Pick an element capture visible content only. Protected browser pages and the Chrome Web Store may refuse capture.

Which colours and background does a new capture use?

The full image is selected, Original colours is the default palette, and the background is kept. Choose a smaller selection or change the palette when needed. For background removal, click the colour swatch for the rectangular colour picker, or sample the raw source using Pick from image. Adjust tolerance and soft edges, then inspect the output.

How can I see both previews and the settings?

Source and output are stacked on the left, settings scroll on the right, and downloads span the bottom. Collapse either preview to give the other more space. In the normal popup, click an open group again to collapse it; all groups can be closed. Expanded view uses a row of settings tabs and always keeps one panel selected. Use the lower-left expand button, switch Input or Output at the top left, and Exit expanded view at the top right. Hover over either image to see its own zero-based X/Y pixel coordinates.

Why was camera or screen access denied?

Start Camera or Live screen from the extension, then use the temporary local capture tab and Chrome permission prompt. For a camera, allow access in Chrome and Windows privacy settings; close other apps using the device and retry. For screen sharing, select a screen, window or tab and confirm Share. Cancelling the chooser keeps the previous artwork. Audio is never requested.

What does RESET remove?

RESET asks for confirmation before clearing current media, conversion settings and the pending editor transfer, and closing extension camera or screen capture tabs. It does not delete downloaded files or reset artwork already imported into the website. Download finished work before resetting or dismissing the popup.

How does Open in Pixel studio work?

It opens the website and imports the exact converted preview automatically. The original input image is omitted from that transfer. Replacing unsaved website artwork asks for confirmation. Declining keeps the artwork and pending transfer; a matching-size layer, palette or display-only reference is available as an alternate destination. If a transfer expires or versions differ, download an editable project in the extension and open it on the website.

Where are the drawing, layer and animation tools?

Use Pixel studio on this website for drawing, layers, frames, palettes and tilemaps. Capture and conversion belong to EzPIX Insta; the website no longer has a separate Focus studio. New project offers a blank canvas or editable starter projects.

How do I save artwork I can edit later?

Download an .ezpix project to retain supported layers, frames and metadata. Download a workspace to keep several document tabs together. PNG and other image exports are useful finished assets but omit some editing information. Read each export review and keep an editable backup. Browser recovery and a download request are not guarantees that a file is saved permanently.

Where is my artwork stored?

Image processing and extension transfers stay in your browser. Extension media and pending transfers expire after ten minutes and can be cleared with RESET. Website recovery, references, document libraries and preferences are separate local browser data. Include original source controls retained conversion input in project files and recovery; references are independent and remain included. Clearing a pending recovery checkpoint requires its explicit control. Downloaded files remain until you delete them. The surrounding website has its own traffic analytics and privacy policy.

What are the media and canvas limits?

Extension output is bounded to 256 pixels per axis and 32 sampled frames. Video inputs are limited to eight seconds and 32 MiB. Dense website artwork supports up to 256 pixels per axis; larger canvases use the sparse tiled workspace, up to 10240 by 10240 within its tile, layer and frame budgets. Large dimensions do not mean unlimited fully painted storage. See the advanced reference for format-specific limits.

Why is a file rejected?

Projects, images and native archives are checked for size, dimensions, supported features and expansion limits before applying artwork. SVG input must be self-contained: scripts, external resources, entities and stylesheets are rejected. Native formats support documented subsets. A rejected or cancelled import keeps existing artwork. Use a supported smaller file or export a rendered image from its original editor.

How can I keep the editor responsive?

Start with a modest canvas and frame count, close unused documents and stop playback while editing. Larger canvases use sparse storage with fixed budgets. Advanced controls load when opened. Recovery decoding waits until you choose Restore. Keep downloads before heavy imports or closing a tab, especially on devices with little memory.

How do appearance and mobile controls work?

Light, Dark and System appearance use the same cyan and blue theme. Choose appearance in the extension dropdown or website theme controls. On narrow screens the website uses bottom Layers, Palette and Preview buttons. Pan moves a zoomed canvas; pinch zoom is not currently supported. The Chrome extension requires desktop Chrome 127 or newer.

Do I need an account, AI service or upload?

No account, AI service or image upload is required for EzPIX Insta or the website editor. Camera and screen sharing require browser permission. Recovery needs working browser storage and Web Locks; if storage is unavailable, use downloaded project backups.

How do I report a problem?

Use Report an issue to open a Gmail compose window addressed to glitchbong.dev@gmail.com. Include your browser version, steps to reproduce and the operation or format involved. Avoid sending private artwork, captures or transfer links. Download a backup before troubleshooting.

How do I select an object with Magic colour selection?

Magic is the default selection tool. Click a connected colour region in Input and adjust Colour tolerance. It compares colours with the clicked seed, not with the meaning of the object. Add differently coloured parts with more clicks, a lasso or the brush; use Remove for spill. The resulting cutout remains selected when grid, palette or photo controls change.

Why does a lasso cutout have transparent corners?

The completed outline keeps only its enclosed pixels. The rectangle around that outline is just its storage boundary; checkerboard pixels in Output are transparent. Release a freehand stroke or choose Finish outline for a polygon. Undo selection restores the previous edit, and Select entire image restores full coverage.
